Table of Contents
The eraser & lasso gesture, unlike its predecessor known as the eraser gesture, provides you with enhanced flexibility. With this gesture, you have the option to activate the eraser or lasso by performing the gesture either on a sidebar or directly on the screen. This increased flexibility empowers you to tailor your experience to your preferences and optimize your workflow.
Customize the eraser & lasso gesture
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the Settings button in the top menu bar.
- Tap Display & Input > Gestures.
- Tap the right arrow to the far right of the Eraser & Lasso Gesture Preferences option.
- Select Region eraser or Lasso to determine what the gesture performed on the left sidebar (right sidebar if you are in left-handed mode) activates.
- Select Region eraser or Lasso to determine what the gesture performed on the screen activates.
Note: You can turn off both options in Step 4 and 5 to disable the eraser & lasso gesture completely.
Use the eraser & lasso gesture in right-handed mode
You've customized the eraser & lasso gesture preferences. It's now time to make the best use of this gesture.
- Open a notebook.
- Two-finger press and hold the left sidebar or screen to activate the region eraser or lasso.
- Circle the handwritten text you wish to erase or select.
Note: To consistently activate the eraser & lasso gesture by performing the two-finger hold on the screen, it is recommended to make sure that you position the two fingers far above or below the dominant hand, aligning them vertically or diagonally.
Use the eraser & lasso gesture in left-handed mode
- Open a notebook.
- Two-finger press and hold the right sidebar or screen to activate the region eraser or lasso.
- Circle the handwritten text you wish to erase or select.
Note: You can use the eraser & lasso gesture in Notes, Documents. It's currently not available in Atelier or Mail. It's worth noting that you can use this gesture to activate the region eraser in Digest and Calendar. If you have one of the preference options set to activate the lasso tool, you may encounter a situation where the gesture does not work when attempting to perform it on the sidebar or screen in Digest and Calendar. This is because the lasso tool is not available in Digest and Calendar.
